Share these with every customer. Fireworks are joy with rules.
Always
- Light fireworks outdoors, in open ground, away from buildings and dry grass.
- Keep a bucket of water or sand within arm's reach.
- Light one item at a time, at arm's length, with an agarbatti or long lighter.
- Supervise children — sparklers stay hot long after they go out.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from the kitchen and heat sources.
- Wear cotton clothing while bursting crackers.
Never
- Relight a "dud" — wait 15 minutes, then soak it in water.
- Hold aerial items in your hand or point them at anyone.
- Burst crackers inside containers, bottles or drains.
- Carry fireworks in your pocket, ever.
- Light fireworks near hospitals, care homes or animal shelters.
- Mix alcohol and ignition duty — designate a sober lighter.
